Easter with children

If you want a chance to get involved in the
giveaway
head here,
and enter a picture of something that you
treasure.
Ends soon,
winner on friday!

Approaching Easter,
what family crafts,
books,
recipes will you be using,
to teach your children about
the
Easter story?
I'd love to hear them.
I have a few things lined up,
including
a jesus in the tomb baking idea,
found here.

      Making a mini garden,
with a stone and a cross in it,
    to represent the
  cross
        and the
   tomb.

There are also some lovely
lamb
crafts,
that concentrate on the
lamb of God.

We will be eating some of these!
"Hot God buns"
{as Ellie likes to call them!}

We will be reading this,

and celebrating the fact that
He is Risen!

Songs and Poems

Ho, Ho, Ho, Hosanna
Ho, Ho, Ho, Hosa a na
Ha, Ha, Ha, leigh lu u iah
He, He, He has sa aved me.
I've got the joy of the Lord!

Jesus Loves Me
Jesus loves me, this I know
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak, but He is strong.
Yes. Jesus loves me.
Yes. Jesus loves me.
Yes. Jesus loves me.
The Bible tells me so!

Jesus Died For All the Children
(From: everythingpreschool.com)
(Tune: 'Jesus Loves the Little Children')
Jesus died for all the children.
All the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in His sight.
Jesus died for all the children of the world.

Jesus Saved Me
(Tune: 'Jesus Loves Me')
(By M. Hubbard)
Jesus saved me, this I know.
For the Bible tells me so.
Nailed to the cross for my own sins,
died, and buried, and raised again!
Yes, Jesus saved me!
Yes, Jesus saved me.
Yes, Jesus saved me.
He saved me from my sins.

How will you celebrate
Easter
this year?

Let us know!

We have been reading "The Jesus Storybook Bible", I highly recommend it, the Easter story is beautiful. I have been teary eyed almost every night when we read it. The boys have been walking around saying "He is RISEN, He is RISEN INDEED!!!" for days. We have also been singing David Crowder's Like a Lion a lot these days because our God is NOT dead!!!

I am not sure how we will spend Resurrection Sunday, but I know we will be in church worshipping our Saviour, and thanking him for dying in my place. Praise God he is not there, he has risen!!
I have Resurrection Rolls posted on my blog if you would like to go see them, an make with your children. Hugs Barbara

I love the Jesus Saved Me version of Jesus Loves Me!! What great ideas! We have that Easter Story book and we also have a couple different storybook Bibles. Thad loves to read about Jesus dying on the cross and rising again. Easter really is our time to CELEBRATE!

I am going to color eggs for the first time with our 2yr old. I have the regular box of food coloring vinegar etc. We are going to do what my Mom did with me, draw a cross with white crayon on the egg prior to dipping. In the end she will see the cross shown on the egg. We will read in her children's bible / story book about that cross. Stop by The Blessings of Modern Domestication on Friday. I have something special planned and think you will like it :-)
