From infancy

From infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus  2 Timothy 3:15

This morning in the car to school we spoke about the fear of God being the beginning of wisdom.
I explained that respecting God will make us wise in our life choices,
we had a few examples.
Then my readings this morning were surrounding being a parent,
being able to teach our children from infancy to love God.

"From infancy! If you had a godly mom that brought you into the world surrounded by faith in Jesus, stories from the Bible, and lullabies of faith, then praise God and thank her. If you didn't, then make a commitment that your children and your grandchildren will be given this head start in life. Yes, personal faith will be won in adolescence or adulthood, but beginning in infancy is such a blessing. To fill a child's world with love and hope and promise because of Jesus is the greatest gift a parent can give!

My Prayer...

Holy and attentive Father, I thank you for the incredible gift of believing parents. I pray that more of us who do believe will be active in sharing our faith with our children. Please make my family and my life a place where children and grandchildren can find it easy to believe and safe to rejoice in Jesus. In his precious name I praise and thank you. Amen."

God speaks

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6

This morning, in the car to school,
we tried something different.
I am trying to encourage my children to listen and recognise Gods voice to them.
We always pray on our way to school and today
I asked the girls to close their eyes,
ask God to speak to them,
give them some words
or a picture.

They each had a moment to ask and think..
Then I said,
"What did you see or hear?"
Ellie, my middle daughter had a picture of our neighbours,
they go to the same school as us and have just moved around the corner.
She saw our family and theirs.
Jessie, my eldest saw a bunch of flowers.

Later that day,
this new neighbour turned up at our door,
with a bunch of flowers for me as we had helped them out.
It wasnt until I was unwrapping them to put in a vase that jessie exclaimed,
"Mummy!! Flowers!...from the people Ellie saw in her picture!"

God is good.
Love Him and how he can speak even to the little children.

Tears for Jessie.

Tonight, I was a little overwhelmed.
It happens at varying stages in my children's life, when I suddenly notice their growth, or when I get a special glimpse of who they are.
Tonight, we had had a lovely family time before getting into bed, the girls had performed little worship shows for us.
They had made a stage {2 towels on the bedroom floor} a microphone stand { a camera tripod} and set to work, showing us their talents!

Singing and dancing along to Seeds of family worship, they sung their little hearts out, danced for God and in my opinion, expressed their worship to him.

It was precious to watch.

Then we cleaned teeth, jammies on and  settled down for a 'made up' story, by Mummy and a time of prayer before bed.

They were kissed and left in their room, drifting off to the sound of the worship CD.

Hours later, I came up to turn off their night lamp and kiss their heads, as I did,
I was struck. There lay my first born Jessie, all legs and arms, long and skinny, two front teeeth missing, hugging onto her teddies, who she has had since the day she was born.
"She won't always be like this" came the thoughts to my mind, "One day, she wont be this little girl, who holds her favorite teddies as she sleeps...One day she will be a grown woman, a teenager. This sweet tender age, is only for such a short while."

I stroked her cheek, overcome with maternal sadness, for this child of mine, whom I Iove so much, who will some day fly my nest and lead her own life.
I told her how much I loved her, as she slept. I prayed for her heart, that it would always be secure in love. That God would keep her, by his side, when my role weakened. I found myself praying, that He would be her source of comfort, eternally.

I turned off the lamp, crept out the room and felt I wanted to write her a note, like she writes me, telling her how much I loved her. I made one for Ellie to. As I wrote their individual notes, the thought crossed my mind, 'This feels like taking all of what I have, something so precious and spilling it all over my children, I want them to be lavished with my love. It feels like giving my all, my best, to them....It feels expensive, but so, so worth it! For they are here in my nest, for only a short time..."

As these thoughts swam around my mind, I suddenly saw the picture of Mary, at Jesus feet, spilling out the expensive perfume, giving her all, and Jesus replying to those that questioned her actions, " You will always have the poor, but you wont always have me."

I felt filled with Gods love, for my children. His children, who are a gift to me. I wont always have them, under my roof, depending on me, as they do now. So while they are, I wish not to hold any love back, I want them to grow in an environment of love, acceptance, praise, security, where they are lifted up, strengthened, encouraged, corrected, and taught. For one day, they wont be in my home, clutching at their teddies, performing little shows and talking of child like things.

I choose to cherish each moment, with Gods grace,  to pour out all of my love, into them and my husband, for this is the gift , that I have been given.

I wrote this last night, then I read my blogs  this morning and found two relevant posts,
here, and here. Take a look.

Life through the lens.

Ellie loves blowing these seeds everywhere!
She brought one into the car,
we were driving home and she blew it,
its tiny seeds, floated around the car,
like little dancing fairies,
they went up my nose,
in my hair and we laughed!
So hard,
it was a cute mum-daughter moment.

Jessie at the pond, down the road,
ducklings had been hatched, so we went to see them..

At the park.

Playing with friends.

Have a blessed day!

I'd love to hear them.
I have a few things lined up,

      Making a mini garden,
with a stone and a cross in it,
    to represent the

There are also some lovely
lamb

that concentrate on the
lamb of God.

We will be eating some of these!
"Hot God buns"

We will be reading this,

and celebrating the fact that
He is Risen!

Jesus Died For All the Children

Jesus died for all the children.
All the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in His sight.
Jesus died for all the children of the world.

Jesus Saved Me

Reflection time.

This little girl,
pictured here,
is turning
7 years old soon!
I cant believe it!
In some ways,
it seems like
yesterday,
that the little 6lb 2oz baby,
came home with us,
and I held her in my arms,
just
gazing
at her,
for hours on end!
She is pictured her,
age 3,
next to her favorite flowers,
the daffodil.
They come out around her
birthday,
and she loves it when they
appear!
She makes up songs about them!!

This little girl,
who is still 3yrs,
decided this morning,
that before cleaning
her
teeth,
she would first clean
Skulley's
teeth!

This was very amusing to her!

Both of these girls,
have always enjoyed
expressing their own sense
of
style!

{Above} Ellie this morning....

Jessie and her
rock star look!
(this is her favorite top, as it carries
all christian symbols on it..
Jesus has the
Key
to her
heart.
He died on the
cross.
He made the
 stars,
in the heavens,
and he gave
New life,
like a
caterpillar
into a
butterfly!

I really love being a mum,
to these two
precious girls!
( Ellie collecting 'unkerconks' )

Finding worms...

hugging trees?!

But being a Mum,
has its many challenges,
choices,
decisions...

and,
if i have any hope of getting it right,
training them,
equipping them,
loving them,
teaching them,

I must be diligent
in these things..

The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.
So let us put aside the deeds of darkness,
and put on the armor of light.
Romans 13:12

and..

Psalm 54:2
Hear my
prayer, O God;
listen to the words of my mouth.

Staying close to Him....

Have a blessed day.

Fathered by God.

OUR FATHER ,
who is in
HEAVEN..

May your name be kept holy.

 May your Kingdom come soon.

May your will be done on earth,

as it is in heaven.

Give us today the food we need,

 and forgive us our sins,

as we have forgiven those who sin against us.

And don’t let us yield to temptation,

but rescue us from the evil one.

He will call out to me, 'You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.'

1 John 3:1
How great is the
love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Psalm 10:14
But you, O
God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.

Bless the children

The Little Children and Jesus
13People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." 16And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

This morning, I woke up with such
