No weapon formed against you.

Isaiah 54:17

17 But in that coming day
no weapon turned against you will succeed.
   You will silence every voice
      raised up to accuse you.
These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the L
ord;
their vindication will come from me.
      I, the L
ord, have spoken!

Have you ever been on the receiving end of bitter words,
untruthful accusations?
Hurtful statements about you?
I have recently.
Particularly pointing the finger at my family,
the way we choose to be,
how we bring up our children,
and how we are perceived,
by these individuals.

Reading the words that were sent to me,
I knew in my heart that they were untruthful,
irrelevant,
and simply this persons perceptions.
Yet the situation still is unpleasant and
has the ability to bring you down.
If you let it.

I had to make a choice,
listen to these words,
which held no conviction,
or trust in God,
who loves me.

There will always be times when
we are understood in life.
Especially as christians.
Sometimes we may seem like fools,
to those who don't understand us.

But,
I choose to believe what Gods word
says.

Isaiah 49:23

Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.

Isaiah 50:7
Because the Sovereign LORD helps me,
       I will not be disgraced.
Therefore have I set my face like flint,
and I know I will not be put to shame.
Isaiah 51:7
“Listen to me, you who know right from wrong
you who cherish my law in your hearts.
Do not be afraid of people’s scorn,
      nor fear their insults.

Be encouraged if this relates to you,
God is for you,
not against you.
Take everything that concerns you,
to him in prayer.
He is faithful.

I cannot begin to imagine someone having a negative thing to say about you friend. You have one of the sweetest spirits I know. Certainly an incredible wife and mother. Stay true to yourself in the Lord. He knows your heart and that is really the opinion that counts.

Great verse selection. God is faithful and loving. He will protect us. In God we can take comfort.

Great post.

Love these verses. Your post made me think of Casting Crowns song..the Voice of Truth.

The voice of Truth tells me a different story!!

Just checking out your blog! That entry was very well said. I wish that I could be strong enough to just ignore what other people say some times and focus on what God thinks, but all too often I get caught up in everything within the world. I'm glad you're able to work past those people and know the truth.

How awful that someone would say such things and hurt you. I'm so sorry Rebekah. I'm glad you were able to find comfort in the scriptures you listed.

You have been nothing but kind and caring towards me. I can't imagine someone being so cruel. I'm really sorry. *hugs*

Thanks everyone, for your kind words. Julie, i was listening to that song not long ago, I hadn't heard it before, funny you should mention it.

I am fine now, i see that sometimes we have to just make choices to hang out with wise people and people who are willing to be there and love you. I'm all for being honest and pointing out areas of improvement, iron sharpens iron, but that was not what this was!
