Slow down mummy-R.Knight

Slow down mummy, there is no need to rush,
slow down mummy, what is all the fuss?
Slow down mummy, make yourself a cup tea.
Slow down mummy, come and spend some time with me.

Slow down mummy, let's put our boots on and go out for a walk,
let's kick at piles of leaves, and smile and laugh and talk.
Slow down mummy, you look ever so tired,
come sit and snuggle under the duvet and rest with me a while.

Slow down mummy, those dirty dishes can wait,
slow down mummy, let's have some fun, let's bake a cake!
Slow down mummy I know you work a lot,
but sometimes mummy, its nice when you just stop.

Sit with us a minute,
& listen to our day,
spend a cherished moment,
because our childhood is not here to stay!

To those of you who read how encouraged I was yesterday, I woke to find that my 'little old poem' has spread all over the Internet, currently at 112 thousand likes and rising! I also found that my poem is being shared all over the world via Pinterest and blogs and sites where people are sharing it. Yesterday I was thinking that my 'voice' did not count for much, today I see that actually God can use your small offerings and passions and multiply them greatly! Just like the boy that offered his 2 fish and loaves of bread.... Be encouraged to carry on doing what you love, it is having an effect on someone, somewhere...even if you are not aware if it ;) thankyou all do much for liking this page. Be the best of you and dream big!! ♥

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4
year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She
put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab
inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go
back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

I had a mental breakdown at work 2 days ago because I am overworked and stressed
I came across your poem today and it brought tears to my eyes. My children are young adults and all still living at home and now that they are older we have all become so busy in our own lives we've forgotten we still kneed to take time out for family.
Thank you for your wonderful words :)

Your poem brought tears to my eyes. Both my daughters have very young children. My one daughter is a working mom. I actually copied and framed your poem and gave it to them as gifts.
