Love that does not FAIL.

So my thoughts are turned once more to someone who is central in my life.
A friend, companion, counsellor, guide, listener.
He knows my thoughts,
He knows who I am.
He understands my feras, my rejections, my insecurities.
Mostly though, he is my biggest fan!
He loves me.
He always encourages me in my dreams.
He picks me up when I'm feeling down.
He is God.
He is spirit of Christ.
Jesus.

Over the years he has never left my side.
There have been times when I was more aware of his presence, but he has always been there.
What did I do to deserve this love?
His protection,
His care?
Nothing.
I did nothing to earn his love, no more than my own children EARN my love and affection.
I love them because, they are my children.
Every child born into this world, was first conceived in the heart of God.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Psalms 139.

What is the difference between a child born from above who follows a religion and a child who does not? How does this affect how much the father of heaven loves them?
Does it change?
Does God love us more because we realise that  He loves us?
Or does he love us all equally because we are his?

We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sisteris a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.  And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
1 john 4.19-21.

Looking at Jesus, what can we learn?

A Samaritan woman came to draw some water, and Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink of water.”
The woman answered, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan—so how can you ask me for a drink?” (Jews will not even use the same cups and bowls that Samaritans use.)
 Jesus answered,
“If you only knew what God gives and who it is that is asking you for a drink, you would ask him, and he would give you life-giving water.”

"If you only KNEW......"

So, how can one suggest that God will not love those who do not even KNOW?

Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because of his great mercy he gave us new life by raising Jesus Christ from death. This fills us with a living hope,  and so we look forward to possessing the rich blessings that God keeps for his people. He keeps them for you in heaven, where they cannot decay or spoil or fade away.  They are for you, who through faith are kept safe by God's power for the salvation which is ready to be revealed at the end of time.
1 Peter.

lets also look at the story of the woman who was not a Jew.

"Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the district of Tyre and Sidon. And a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying,
'Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.'
But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, 'Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.' But He answered and said,
'I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.'
But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying,
'Lord, help me!'
And He answered and said,
'It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.'
But she said,
'Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.'
Then Jesus said to her,
'O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.'
And her daughter was healed at once." (Matthew 15:21-28; cf. Mark 7:24-30).

Jesus said his message was to only come for the lost sheep of the jews.
That was his purpose.
Yet he healed and invested in this woman because she saw something in him.
He responded, 'GREAT is your faith!'
Why? Is it because despite what had been taught, she saw Gods heart and love for all of mankind?

Peters vision explains what this lady caught a hold of:

Acts 10:9-19
About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.
He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.
He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. ”
It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air.
13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
“Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that G-d has made clean.”
This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon’s house was and stopped at the gate.
They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter was staying there.
While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three men are looking for you.
So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them.”

God was showing Peter that nothing was unclean to him!
No one was filthy of sin.
Jesus had done the job.
A new covenant now stood,
clearing the way for all of Gods children to enter into Eden once more.
Emmanuel. God with us.

The Lord says, “The time is coming when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.  It will not be like the old covenant that I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and led them out of Egypt. Although I was like a husband to them, they did not keep that covenant.  The new covenant that I will make with the people of Israel will be this: I will put my law within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.  None of them will have to teach a neighbor to know theLord, because all will know me, from the least to the greatest. I will forgive their sins and I will no longer remember their wrongs. I, the Lord, have spoken.” Jeremiah 31:31-34

In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete! And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 8:13

Jesus was the shepherd,
His death was our door back home.
Our minds can now begin to see,
where we were once blind.
consider the story of the lost sheep.
Jesus left the 99,
to collect the one who was still lost.
What did he end up with?
ALL
of his lost sheep.

xx

Priceless pearls.

Again the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a dealer in search of fine and precious pearls, Who, on finding a single pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it.

How important is it to us to find our true selves, find Light, find truth, spirituality, God?
To some, perhaps not at all...but to someone who has had a little taste of such things, like a merchant, who knew his trade, upon finding the real deal, sold everything else he owned in order to purchase it!
When you find the genuine article, you'll do what it takes to make sure it stays within your life. For in simple terms, it is good for you!
It awakens you, nourishes, heals, cleans, guides, loves, comforts. The kingdom is not a distant place, set in heaven, far away. It is a substance. A substance of true life. It is where spirit abides and connects with us. I think, from personal experience, it is worth finding!

Do you see me?

Do you see me?

What is it about us that desires to be seen?
I'm not talking about people noticing your physical being walking down the street, but to be really seen.
The part of us that is unseen to the naked eyes, the depths, the soul, the spirit, the heart of us.
It is true that you can be standing in a crowded room, surrounded by bodies, pressing up against your skin. Close enough to feel their breath, yet to feel alone. So very alone.
What satisfies that inner hunger?
What creates this need?
Can you hear me?
I guess this is why I have a desire to listen to others, I may fail at times, but I understand that need to get your heart out there. To be able to express your desires, your hopes, your dreams, your passions, your pains, in an environment of acceptance. To feel released to speak freely and honestly without being judged.
Do you identify with the cramping up of your chest when you start to talk to someone and see their blank reactions, or the condescending faces ready to pounce at your next given pause. This is not a good atmosphere to let your heart flow.
Agreed we are all different, I think this is why certain people form such close friendships. It is usually with the people you feel able to be yourself around.
Then there are those you avoid conversations with, because you have come to realise that no depth can be shared. You will skim the surface of your conversational skills and collect as much as you can to suffice a friendly chat, but you walk away feeling empty and a fraud.
My heart swells with passion, creativity, childish questioning, pains,  screams, longings, desires, yet it often gets pushed back down to the depths of myself. A dark place in vain hope that it will not ache again for a while. Maybe it will lie low, long enough to allow me to carry on in life a little longer. Maybe not. Perhaps the cracks will start to show again soon? I believe this is part of the reason why I like to write, to document and pour out my heart onto a blank page. Sure enough, there's always plenty going on inside. As I view the outside world, through my childlike, timid eyes, I'm searching for someone who cares enough to see the ocean beneath.
There is one I have found, I often leave him till last, a failing of mine perhaps? Someone who sees everything beyond this fleshly suit I wear. He knows my heart, my longings & my fears better than I. For he fashioned me. Created me, loved me and breathed life into my lungs. A friend like no other. For him, I am truly thankful.

Carry on regardless...

Some people will 'get' you. Others won't. Some will understand you, others won't. You can't please everyone and you'll possibly lose friends along the way. Carry on, carry on! Be true to yourself and what burns within your heart. Embrace those who want to be embraced, love anyway, despite opposition. "And if a town refuses to welcome you, shake it's dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate." You're likely to get hurt along the way. Learn from it and move on. ♥

Sick of it!

Reading a very interesting book. This part jumped out at me. Basically, we can do the same thing over and over until we get so disappointed/hurt/fed up with it! At that point, we have a choice. Do we carry on with this thing I keep attending, repeating, engaging, subjecting myself to or are we fed up enough to make a change?? We should always seek truth. Is it creating something positive in you? It may not be comfortable but that can still be good. I'm talking about things you do out of duty, routine, because you feel you should but actually it's doing you more harm than good! Stop it! Seek God, seek direction, seek purity and truth, seek fresh water. Whatever circumstance that relates to this, be real enough to walk away if it is draining you and harming you! You deserve the best!!! ♥

The storm.

Do you feel like you are in a storm right now?
Is everything difficult, unpredictable & frightening? It's Ok. I have been in many storms like these and our natural instinct is to get through them, as fast as we can! To reach the higher ground! This week I was challenged. I was thinking about a few challenges that I am facing and a picture came to mind. I saw a little boat in the rough, sea waters. The waves were crashing against the boat, the darkness closing in around. I stood at the front of the boat, looking out to sea, where I could see a slither of land in the distance. My gaze was fixed, my sights had been set. 'I must reach land, and the sooner I get there the better!'
Then I heard a voice, a quiet voice coming from behind me. I turned to see Jesus, lying in the boat, wrapped up warm in a cozy blanket. He was not getting wet by the splash of the waters. He motioned for me to come and sit with him. I hesitated, My heart was set on the horizon. Escaping the storm was my priority, but it seemed it was not his!
I felt his voice sting my heart, " When you look to the safety of land, you miss all that I have for you within the storm. Land will always arrive, a brighter day, a sense of comfort, but you will miss out on what I have for you in the middle of the raging winds and crashing waves. Come sit with me a while and let me show you."
Wisdom is carved out of the hard times, trust is fashioned in the uncertainty, faith is moulded within the fear, and compassion and love are fruits of such an experience. If you face a storm today, take heart! Don't seek to run from it, embrace it! For you are never alone! ♥

From these eyes.

Looking out, from within,
I gaze at my life,
here on earth.
Through these eyes of mine,
I watch.

Like a cinematic screen,
the movie rolls,
I see my teen years, my childish laugh.
My playful banter,
jumping in the hay.

Running through the grassy fields,
singing with my friends,
friendships gone,
but not forgotten.

Conversations recalled,
hands held,
family members embraced.
Through these eyes,
I watch.

I see my life,
through these eyes,
 I am the same inside.
As life plays on,
stopping for no one,
through these eyes,
I watch.

I am the same,
being carried along.
My body, outside, begins to age.
But I remain the same.
Behind these eyes,
I watch.

People I have loved,
people I have lost.
I can not return to these scenes,
that play before my eyes.
I can not embrace those hands,
those hearts.
The time is gone,
This play goes on,
behind these eyes,
I watch.

Rebekah Knight (c) 2013

This came out of a dream I had, where I re lived my past, from a binocular type of view, through my own eyes.
As I remembered all the days that I had lived, I embraced those past days.
 I  felt deeply effected.
At the end of the dream,
I was speaking to an old friend,
and in conclusion I was telling her that I get effected by sentimentality. It always stirs me, moves me and causes me to make a change some how.
At the end of the dream, I was an old lady.
Perhaps it is a reminder at how fast these years on earth are?
Perhaps it is a reminder that we need to embrace those around us while we still can?
It certainly made me think.

Can of christianity please...

I had a vision/picture last night of liquid gold being poured out on earth from heaven, people loved this liquid and drank freely of it- those who were thirsty.

Then people began to package the pure liquid, labeling it in tin cans, like '7up', 'coke', 'tango' etc. As time went on, these labels became more about traditional and unique styles, causing division with others who drank of a differing can.
Some only drank on sundays, in a particular way, with a certain food, others didn't even like the drink, they just liked the social element of the preferred group.

Then there were those, who didn't chose a label to drink from, but found the source of the liquid for themselves! They were hooked up to the mainline and became intoxicated with heavenly revelations and to other groups looked crazy!

But God said to me, 'There will come a day when I will strip away all the labels and reveal the source of this liquid gold. It matters not which 'can' you drink from, what matters to me is your connection with me, divine love. I AM the source, I AM life, I AM the drink that will satisfy, and give you life. 'All who are thirsty, shall thirst no more, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.' John 4.14

Create your own labels if you will... But God can not be put in a can, a box, a religion and be held there. His love COVERS the earth. His power, presence and light fill every crevice. Jesus made it possible for everyone to engage with the Father/Divine and how we connect to him is a personal matter, the important thing remains, God longs for you to KNOW him and feel his touch in your life..He is always searching for ways to get your attention, are your ears open and your eyes seeing?
